Diindolylmethane is a metabolite of indole–3–carbinol (I3C). Both are found naturally in cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, kale and brussels sprouts. A double blind, randomized clinical trial involved 19 post–menopausal women who supplemented with BioResponse DIM® for 30 days. Results suggested that it promoted a healthy balance of 2–hydroxyestrone metabolites (2–OHE1) to 16 alpha–hydroxyestrone metabolites (16a–OHE1). Another randomized placebo–controlled crossover trial including 33 pre­menopausal women found that supplementing with BioResponse DIM® for 3 months promoted statistically significant breast comfort.
