Basic Detox Nutrients is a complete multi vitamin-mineral formulation with higher levels of nutrients commonly found to be deficient in those with chemical overload, as well as those nutrients and botanicals that help the body handle the toxic load,* including: B vitamins: Thiamine (vitamin B1) is essential to restore the body's antioxidant defense - glutathione and lipoic acid.* Thiamine is depleted by chlorinated pesticides and formaldehyde, two ubiquitous toxins. INTERACTIONS/CONTRAINDICATIONS As vitamin K interferes with the effect of anticoagulant drugs (like Coumadin), the concurrent use of these agents should be avoided. Curcumin has been shown to reduce the therapeutic efficacy of cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan) in animal studies. In vitro research reveals curcumin decreased camptothecin-induced death of cultured breast cancer cells. Curcumin might also interfere with the absorption and efficacy of the chemotherapy drug irinotecan, used to treat colon cancer.
